When your exterior is made up of wooden beams

Are we sensing a pattern? Finished wood is a very liberal trend.

Unnamed

This shot was taken in Downtown Austin at a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at West 24th St. on Guadalupe Street.

While not all uses of finished wood indicate a liberal establishment, this use of horizontal beams with diagonal cutoffs and different elevations is very recognizable as a liberal design pattern.

Oh, and the coffee was tasty too, so there's another clue.

When your plate is a slab of wood

Today I visited Lola Savannah, a coffee lounge + wine bar in the West Lake Hills of Austin, Texas. It's a great place for a cup of joe, a glass of wine, or even food from their sister restaurant next door.

But Lola Savannah is definitely a liberal establishment. The biggest giveaway came when my food was served... on a slab of wood. This is a signature move by a liberal establishment. Wood is a for-sure way to tell you're at a liberal establishment.

Another way to tell this is a liberal establishment is the fact that they serve fine wine, while still allowing laptops inside (they have free wifi, too). You don't find this combination too often elsewhere.

More signs of the liberalness of this place are the way the wine bottles are arranged and stacked, the unique lighting, and the way wine glasses are hung from piece of carved wood.

Check out Lola Savannah sometime. It's a really cool place.
